In the name of God Amen I Jane Stredwick of Wye in the County of Kent but now residing in Bishops Waltham in the County of Southhampton Widow Executrix of the last will and testament of my late husband James Stredwick deceased being in good health in body and sound and well disposing disposing mind memory and understanding (blessed be God) and calling to mind the uncertainty of this mortall life and knowing that I was born to dye and being desirous to settle that worldly estate which God in his mercy hath lent me so that no controversies may arise about the same after my death do make and declare this my last will and testament in writing in manner and form following (that is to say)
Ffirst of all I give and bequeath unto my brother Thomas Penny and Sarah his wife or to the survivor of them the sum of one hundred pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to them or the survivor of them within the sapce of six months next ensuing after my decease
Also I give and bequeath unto my nephews Richard Penny Thomas Penny and Ffrancis Penny sons of my said Brother Thomas Penny the sum of ffifty pounds a peice and to my nephew James Penny another son of my said brother Thomas Penny the sum of twenty pounds And to my nephew John Penny another son of my said Brother Thomas Penny the sum of Thirty pounds all of like lawfull money to be paid unto them within the space of six months next ensuing after my decease
And also I give and bequeath unto my neice Mary Rawlins widow and to her three daughters namely Abigail Jane and Cleeves Rawlins the sum of two hundred pounds of like lawfull money to be paid unto them severally and respectively within the like space of six months next ensuing after my decease and my will is if any or either of the said Sons of my said Brother Thomas Penny shall happen to dye before his or their legacy or legacies shall become due and payable that then the legacy or legacies of him or them so dying shall go and be paid to and amongst the survivor or survivors of them share and share alike
and also I give and bequeath unto my nephew Thomas Bennet the son of my late sister Ann Bennett deceased the sum of three hundred pounds of like lawful money to be paid unto them in equall shares parts and proportions within the like sapace of six months next ensuing after my decease And if any or either of them shall happen to dye before her or their share or shares of and in the said three hundred pounds shall become due and payable that then the share or shares of her or them so dying shall go and be paid to the survivor or survivors of them equally between them share and share alike
Also I give and bequeath unto my nephew Robert Cleeves and unto my Goddaughter Elizabeth Cleeves daughter of my nephew William Cleeves the summe of ffifty pounds a peice of like lawfull money to be paid unto them respectively within the like space of six months next ensuing after my decease
And further I do give devise and bequeath unto my said nephew Robert Cleeves and William Cleeves all those my messuages lands tenements hereditaments and premises with the appurtenances to the same belonging situate lying and being in the parish of Rucking in the said County of Kent or elsewhere within the said county to hold unto them my said nephews Robert Cleeves and William Cleeves and to their heirs and assignes for ever subject and chargeable nevertheless to and with the payment of the severall legacies above mentioned by me given and bequeathed to the severall and respective Legatees above named
ffinally all the rest residue and Remainder of my moneys bonds mortgages and other securities for miney goods chattells rights credits and personal estate whatsoever (after payment of my just debts the legacees above mentioned and my ffunerall charges) I give and bequeath unto my said Nephews Robert Cleeves and William Cleeves to be equally shares and divided betwixt them share and share alike
And I do hereby make ordain constitute and appoint them the said Robert Cleeves and William Cleeves joynt executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills and testaments by me at any time heretofore made or declared
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty fourth day of march in the eigth year of our the reigne of our sovereign Lord George the second by the grace of God now King of Great Britain and so forth and in the year of our lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and thirty four Jane Stredwick
