In the name of God Amen I Jane Strudwick of the parish of St Andrews Holborne in the County of Middlesex Spinster being weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory Do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and fform following
Ffirst and principally I recommend my soul to God that gave it trusting through the meritts of Jesus Christ my saviour to receive remission of my sins and my body I commit to the earth to be decently buryed at the discretion of my executrix hereinafter named and as touching such Worldly Estate as it hath pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I dispose thereof as follows Whereas I am entitled to the sum of two hundred and ffifty pounds or thereabouts part of the sum of ffive hundred pounds deposited by me and my Brother Lucy Strudwick for the making good of the deficiency of the Joynture of my Mother Letitia Strudwick during her life Now Ido hereby give and bequeath unto my said Brother Lucy Strudwick the said sum of two hindred and ffifty pounds after the death of my said Mother But in the mean time I do subject my share of the said ffive hundred pounds and interest to the making good such defeciency and if there shall be any surplus of the Interest and profit of my share of the said ffive hundred pounds after the making good such deficiency from time to time Then I do give and bequeath such surplus to my said Mother it being my intent that my said Brother shall receive only so much of my share of the said principal sum of ffive hundred pounds as shall remain at the death of my said Mother and if at any time it shall happen that the Interest of my share of the said ffive hundred pounds shall not be sufficient to make good my share of the deficiency of my said Mothers Joynture from time totime Then I do subject my share of the said principal money to the making good the same
Item I give unto my said Brother the sum of ten pounds for mourning
Item I give unto Mr Thomas Ingrey ten pounds for mourning and to his wife the like sum of ten pounds for mourning
I give unto Mis Mary Ingrey Daughter of the said Thomas Ingrey such part of my Cloaths both Linnen and Wollen as my said Mother Letitia Strudwick shall think proper
Item I give to the Reverend Mr James Wagstaff my press and all my books
Item i give the sum of ffive pounds to the poor of that division of the Parish of St Andrews Holborn wherein I now live and I also give the sum of ffive pounds to the poor of the Parish where i sahll be buryed
Item I devise and bequeath all my estate and premises in or near Saffron Walden in the County of Essex both ffreehold and Copyhold ( I having surrendered such part thereof as is copyhold to the use of my will) and Also my watch and Diamond and all and other my reall and personal Estate whatsoever after the payment of my debts legacyes and ffuneral Expenses unto my said Mother Letitia Strudwick her heors Executors Admons and Assignes forever And i do hereby nominate and appoint my said Mother Letitia Strudwick Sole Executrix of this my last Willand Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made
