In the name of God Amen I Edward Strodwick Mariner belonging to her Majesties Ship the Jersey being in bodily health and sound and disposing mind and memory and considering the perils and dangers of the seas and other uncertainties of this transitory life Doo for avoiding controversies after my decease make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following (that is to say)
Ffirst I recomend my soul to God that gave it and my Body I commit to the Earth or Sea as it shall please God to order And as for and concerning all my worldly Estate I give bequeath and dispose thereof as followeth (that is to say)
I give to my loving Wife Anna Strodwick of Stepney parish MiddleX all and whatsoever wages Shore Allowance money Water money Smart money and Prize money that now is or shall at any time or times hereafter become due and payable unto me on board the said ship Jersey or any other Ship or Ships whatsoever
And all and whatsoever other Wages sum or sums of money :ands Tenements Goods Chattells and Estate whatsoever as shall be any ways due owing or belonging unto me at the time of my decease I doo give devise and bequeath the same unto the said Anna Strodwick my loving wife for her heirs and executors
And I doo hereby nominate and appoint the said Anna Strodwick Executrix of this my last wills testaments and deeds of gift by me at any time heretofore made
And I doo ordain and ratify these presents to stand and be for and as my last will and testament
