In the name of God Amen this is the last will of many Catherine Richmond Strudwicke of the city of Ely spinster
I commend my friend Dudley warren of the lie aforesaid spinster all money which now is or at my death may be in any wise due or owing to me from her and I give my exchequer long annuity of 20 pounds payable for 99 years from the year 1706 unto the said Dudley Warren during her life and after death unto my two nephews George Lucas Strudwicke and Edmund Strudwicke equally to be divided between them during their joint lives and if either of them shall die during the continuance thereof then the whole to the survivor of them
And I give to William Ange of Lincolns Inn one guinea to be paid in a month after my death
And I trust all the rest of my personal estate and effects after the payment of my funeral expenses the aforesaid legacies and such legacies as I may give by any Codicil will be continued or placed out out interest
And I give all the interest and yearly dividends and income thereof which shall arise during the life of my said friend Dudley Warren unto her the said Dudley Warren for her own absolute use and after her death I give the capital of such residue as follows that is to say
Two full and equal seventh parts thereof unto my half-brother Samuel Strudwick Esq who some years since went to North Carolina
Aand one other equal seventh part thereof unto my niece Sarah Crofts wife of the reverend Peter Crofts of Lewes in Sussex
And two other equal seventh parts thereof to be continued out and interest and the interest dividends or yearly income thereof to be payed unto my said nephew George Lucas Strudwick during his life and after his death the capital to be paid or transferred unto his lawful child or children living at his death equally to be divided between them if more than one
And if he shall not leave any lawful child then living then any interest dividends or yearly income thereof to be paid unto my said nephew Edmund Strudwick during his life and after his death the capital to be paid or transferred unto the lawful child or children of the said Edmund living at his death to be equally divided between them if more than one
And as to the remaining two equal seventh parts of the residue of my estate it is my will that the same shall after the death of the said Dudley Warren be for the benefit of my said nephew Edmund Strudwick for his life and afterwards for his lawful child or children if any living at his death in manner aforesaid and if no such child shall be then living them for the benefit of my said nephew George Lucas Strudwick for his life and afterwards for his lawful child or children if any living at his death in manner aforesaid
And if events shall so happened that any part or share of or in my estate shall be undisposed of it is my will that such part or parts share or shares thereof shall belong unto my said two nephews and my said niece or such two orl one of them as shalll be living at my death equally to be divided between them is more than one
And I appoint my sent friend Dudley Warren Sole Executrix hereof during her life and after her death I appoint the said William Ange executor hereof and I direct that my said executors shall have full right to deduct out of my estate all the charges and expenses and I revoke all former wills made by me and declare this to be my last will in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eighth day of August 1783 C. these are to certify whom it may concern that I Catherine Richmond Strudwick So give unto my friend Mrs Dudley warren of Ely in the County of Cambridge and to take into her custody immediately after my decease all my household goods furniture and chattels of every kind and sort whatsoever and also all my wearing apparel and linen of every kind my watch rings plate China glasses and pictures and every other things all things belonging or pertaining to me all which I request

This is a codicil to the will of Mrs Catherine Richmond Strudwick of the city of Ely spinster I give to my friend of Mrs Dudley Warren for own use my gold watch and all my household goods furniture wearing apparel linen plate China glasses books and pictures over above what I’ve given to her by my will as witness my hand the second day of March in the year of our lord 1784 CR Strudwick signed by the said Mrs Catherine Richmond Strudwick and transcribed from particular reason in the presence of us the second day of March 1784 Susanna Rayner John Knowles

April 1, 1792 left unadministered by Dudley Warren spinster deceased now granted to Edmund Strudwick the nephew.
