to my friends William Margesson of Ockley, yeoman and Richard Bax of Pleystowe, Capel, yeoman, execs. and residuary legatees (a suit of mourning each) messuage etc. (1 acre) Church Gardens alias the Bonets, Capel in my occupation and messuage Cox alias Hatchers Nash Lands, Denny Mead and Chele Land, Warnham, Sussex (100 acres) in the occupation of William Dartnell and messuage etc. Pollingfold, near Oakwood Chapel, Abinger (60 acres) in the occupation of William Strudwick as execs. in trust until my son William Steere is 21 and then to him with remainder to my daughter Mary Steere;

to my daughter Mary £500 besides the £900 bequeathed to her by the will of her late grandfather Daniel Capon, deceased;

to my daughter Mary £10 for mourning; to (Mr) John Paget, minister of the Gospel £2 3s;

to my sister Sarah Palmer £2 3s and to her children John Palmer, Sarah Palmer and Mary Palmer £1 1s 6d each;

to my five servants that live with me Thomas Peter, John Steere, Thomas Wakeham, Elizabeth Wheeler and Ann Steere 10s each;

to churchwardens and overseers of Capel £5 for poor and for that reason desire to be buried in linen
