In the name of God Amen I James Stredwick of the parish of Wye in the County of Kent Gent being infirm in body but (God be thanked) of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my last will and testament in manner and fform ffollowing

and ffirst I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God begging mercy of my sinns through the alone merits of my dear Redeemer Jesus Christ and my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor hereinafter named

And as for that temporal estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I give and devise and dispose of the same as follows Imprimis

I give and bequeath unto my sister Sarah Sorrall the sum of 50 pounds to be paid her within 6 months after my decease

Item I give and bequeath to my nephew John Buckwell the like summ of 50 pounds to be paid him within 6 months after my decease

Item I give and devise unto my dear and loving wife Jane Stredwick and to her heirs and assigns forever all those my lands and hereditaments with the appurtenances to the same belonging lying in being in the parish of Rucking in Rumney Marsh in the County of Kent or elsewhere within the said Marsh being in three several pieces or parcels and now in the tenure or occupation of Mr William Kennett senior of Wye Court in the said County of Kent to hold the said lands and hereditaments to her the said Jane Stredwick my wife and her heirs and assigns forever

Item I do give and bequeath to my said dear and loving wife Jane Stredwick (after payment of my debts the legacies above mentioned and all my funeral expenses) all my goods rights credits and chattels and all my personal estate whatsoever and all my bonds mortgages South Sea stock and South Sea annuities and all moneys due to me thereon

And I do make constitute and appoint her my said the dear wife Jane Stredwick sole executrix of this my last will and testament revoking all formal wills by me at any time heretofore made and do publish and declare this to be my last will and testament

Lastly I do appoint my brother-in-law Mr Thomas Penny of Bishops Walthem in the County of Southampton Mr Thomas Bennett my nephew of the town of Nottingham and the above mentioned Mr William Kennett to be trustees of this my last will and testament desiring them to be aiding and assisting to my executrix in the execution thereof and I do order them or any of them to be paid for any trouble they shall be at about the execution of the same

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 14th day of March in the year of our Lord 1731 James Stredwick signed sealed published and declared by the testator James Stredwick forehand as his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request subscribe our names as witnesses here unto
