I John Strudwick of this city of Chichester in the County of Sussex Blacksmith being sick and weak in body but of sound perfect and disposing memory and understanding Do make and Declare this my last will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say)
Principally I Commend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God. My Body I Commit to the Earth to be Decently Buried And Dispose of my Worldly Estate as follows (to wit)
First I Give and bequeath unto my late Wife’s Grandaughter Anne Fathew,Spinster the summe of Ten pounds to be paid untio her within Twelve Months after my Decease by my Executors hereafter Named
AND I also Give and Bequeath unto the said Anne Fathew One Coffee Pott
ALSO I Give and Bequeath unto my Kinswoman Elizabeth Strudwick Spinster Daughter of Elizabeth Strudwick Widow by her late Husband John Strudwick Deceased the summe of ffive pounds to be paid unto her within Twelve Months after my decease by my Executor hereafter named
AND all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my ready Moneys Debts due to me on Book Or otherwise Stock and Tools in Trade Goods Chattells Creditts Effects and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever (After payment thereout of all my Just Debts Legacies aforesdaid and Funeral Expenses) I give and Bequeath unto my Loving Brother and Sisters Richard Strudwick, Mary Arslett Widow, Joane Abraham Widow, and Elizabeth Todman Widow Equally to be divided between them Share and Share alike
AND LASTLY I make Constitute and Appoint my said Brother Richard Strudwick And my said Sister Mary Arslett Joint Executor and Executrix of this my last Will and Testament ( HEREBY Revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made)

This will was proved before the Reverend John Hancocke Clerk Surrogate on the Twentyninth day of June One Thousand Seven hundred and fforty five By the Oath of Richard Strudwick natural and lawfull Brother of the said Deceased and one of the Executors named in the above written Will (Power being reserved of Granyting the like Commission to Mary Arslett naturall and lawfull Sister of the said deceased and the other Executor if and when requested To whom administration was granted after being well and truly sworn
