Ann Strudwick St Sepulchre
in the name of God Amen I Ann Strudwick of the parish St Sepulchre London widow being sick and weak in body but of sound and disposing mind and memory praised the God revoking all former wills testaments legacies and bequests by me made and given I do make and declare this my present last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say)
first and principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my creator loving and steadfastly believing in the merits death and passion of my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ to obtain free pardon and forgiveness of all my sinns and to inherit eternal life in the kingdom of heaven with the elect children of God my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executor hereinafter named and for such temporal lands goods and estate as it hath please God to lend me in this world (my debts and funeral expenses being thereof first paid and discharged) I give and bequeath the same in manner and form following (that is to say)
item I give devise and bequeath all those my message lands tenements and hereditaments with their and every of their appurtenances called Frith, Frith Coppice Smallbrooke and Hivall situate lying and being in or near Thursley in the county of Surrey or by whatever name the same or any of them are called or known now or have been in the tenure or occupation of James Stillwell, Richard Harrington, Amy Harrington widow and Joseph Mills, their or some of their undertenants or assigned or other persons my under tenants and all other messuages lands tenements and hereditaments with the appurtenances and all annuities and rents wherein I have any estate in fee either in possession or reversion in the said county of Surrey or elsewhere and all the deeds, evidences and writings concerning the same under my loving son John Strudwick and the heirs of his body lawfully to be begotten and for default of such issue unto my loving kinsman William Strudwick his heirs and assigns forever upon this condition nevertheless that if the said lands and premises shall at my time therafter happen to descend and come to the said William Strudwick and his heirs that then the said William Strudwick his heirs or assigned shall truly pay the annuity and sums of money hereinafter mentioned to such persons as our hereinafter named and in manner following (viz)
to my cousin Jane Betsworth wife of Peter Betsworth one annuity or yearly payment of 20 pounds of lawful money of England for and during the term of the natural life of the said Jane by quarterly payments by equal portions
and in case my granddaughter Ann Bridger daughter of Richard Bridger by Ann his wife my daughter shall live to attain the age of one and 20 years then the said William Strudwick his heirs executors or assigned shall truly then pay under my said granddaughter Anne and the sum of 50 pounds in money
and in case Henry Barnard son of Thomas Barnard by Jane his wife my daughter in law shall live to attain the age of 1 and 20 years then the said William Strudwick his heirs executors or assigned shall then truly pay unto the said Henry Barnard the sum of 50 pounds in money
item I give and bequeath all my wearing apparel unto and between the aforesaid named Jane Betsworth and Ann Pratt her sister equally to be divided by my executor
item I give and bequeaths under the aforesaid named Anne Bridger by granddaughter one 20 shilling piece of gold and 1 5 shilling piece of gold
the remainder rest and residue of all and every my goods and chattels money plate linen debts and estate whatsoever afore unbequeathed I wholy give and bequeath the same under my said son John Strudwick
Item I name ordain and appoint the said William Strudwick the full and sole executor of this my last will and testament during the minority of my said son John and when and so soon as my said son John shall attain the age of 1 and 20 years then I name ordain and appoint my said son John Strudwick to be the full and only executor of this my last will and testament desiring the same may be performed according to my true intent and meaning
in witness whereof I said Anne Strudwick the testatrix to this my last will and testament written in three whole sheets and this part of another sheet of paper joined together and sealed at the top and set my hand and seal dated the sixth and 20th day of November Anno Domino 1674 and in the sixth and 20th year of the reign and our sovereign Lord King Charles the second of England Anne Strudwick sealed published delivered by the said Anne Strudwick that the testatrix for and as her last will and testament the day of the date in the presence of the mark of Margaret Prichard Thomas Ward Bartholomew Hunt Snow Hill
