I Thomas Strudwike of the Parish of Lurgashall in the County of Sussex yeoman being sicke in body but pfect of mind & rememberance I thanke Almighty God Doe make ordayne & sett Downe this to bee my last will & testament as in manner & forme it followeth that is to say
ffirst & principally I bequeath my soule unto the mercifull hands of Almighty God my Creator & maker desiring and trusting that by the merritts death & passion of Jesus Christ xxx xxxxand redeemer to have full remission & forgiveness of all my sinnes & offences & to bee made xxx of life everlasting
Of my body I committ to the earth from whence it came & to be buryed in the parish church yard of Lurgashall aforesayd
Item I give to the Cathedral Church of Chichester six pence
Item I give to the Parish church of Lurgashall aforesayd four pence
Item I give & bequeath unto Mary Strudwick my wife all me tenements & landes after the decease of Elizabeth Strudwick my Grandmother to have & to hold possess & enjoy twenty yeares
Item I give & bequeath unto my eldest son William Strudwick all that tenement & landes commonly called or known by the name of xx (obliterated) xx end & terme of twenty yeares after the decease of my Grandmother aforesayd
Item I give & bequeath unto my youngest son John Strudwick all that tenement landes commonly called or knowne or named by the name of Sparkesfield? & Littlesfield after the full end & terme of twenty yeares after the decease of my Grandmother or else forty pounds in money
Item i give & bequeath unto my daughter Joane the sum of twenty pounds of good and lawfull money of England to bee payd unto the above named Joane Strudwick when she shall accomplish to the full age of twenty & one yeares
All the rest of my goods Cattells & Chattells my debts legacies and funerall expenses discharged I give & bequeath unto my sayd wife Mary Strudwicke whome I make executrix
& I doe desire and appoint my trusted and well beloved father in Law William Coates & John Bellchambers to bee my overseers to see this my last will & testament truly performed And I doe give them for their paynes herein to be taken three shillings & four pence apeece
In witness whereofI the sayd Thomas Strudwicke have caused this my last will & testament to be made & have hereunto sett my hand & seale the eighteenth Day of December Thomas Strudwicke
